Job summary

The Center for Orthopaedic Specialists at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine is seeking an Orthopedic Trauma Surgeon (Assistant/Associate Professor) to provide high-quality patient care. Position: Orthopedic Trauma Surgeon (Assistant/Associate Professor) – Department of Surgery, Southern Illinois University School of Medicine.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive orthopedic trauma care in a high-volume clinical setting at Springfield Memorial Hospital and HSHS St. John’s Hospital.
• Teach and mentor medical students, residents, and fellows in a supportive academic environment.
• Lead or contribute to clinical or basic science research projects.
• Shape trauma care delivery and participate in department strategic planning.

Qualifications

• Graduated from an accredited medical school.
• Licensed or eligible for licensure to practice medicine in Illinois.
• Successful completion of an Orthopedic residency program.
• Board-eligible or board-certified in Orthopedic Surgery.
• Analytical, compassionate, and sensitive to the needs of underrepresented minority populations.
