Job summary

Banner University Medical Center Tucson is seeking an Academic Cardiologist to provide patient care, teaching and research within the Department of Medicine, Section of Cardiology. The successful candidate will contribute to both inpatient and outpatient care and participate in ongoing education and research efforts.

The role emphasizes noninvasive imaging and advanced echocardiography techniques, with opportunities to develop imaging protocols, quality initiatives, and physician education

Qualifications

• Board-certified/board-eligible General Cardiologist.
• Level III Echocardiography training/certification.
• Mid career physician with established expertise in cardiovascular imaging.
• Strong interest in advancing echocardiography services and quality initiatives.
• Experience with emerging and advanced echo modalities, including strain imaging, 3D echocardiography, structural heart imaging support, and other developing technologies.

Responsibilities

• Oversight of echocardiography quality and accreditation standards.
• Development and implementation of imaging protocols and best practices.
• Evaluation and adoption of new echocardiographic technologies and modalities.
• Collaboration with sonographers, physicians, and operational leadership to improve efficiency and quality.
• Support for physician and sonographer education.
• Participation in strategic planning related to cardiovascular imaging growth and innovation.
