Albany Medical College in New York invites applications for a full-time Academic Nephrologist (Assistant or Associate Professor) to join the Division of Nephrology and Hypertension. The position offers the opportunity to practice the full scope of nephrology in a collaborative, academically rich environment.

The candidate will provide inpatient consults and teaching, participate in renal transplant services, manage outpatient hemodialysis care, and lead a comprehensive CKD outpatient program,

Qualifications

• MD/DO or equivalent degree with board certification or eligibility in Nephrology.
• Demonstrated clinical expertise in nephrology subspecialty care.
• Strong commitment to medical education and mentorship.
• Interest or experience in clinical research is highly desirable.
• Eligibility for faculty appointment at the Assistant or Associate Professor level.
• Eligibility for medical licensure in New York State.
• Dedication to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care across diverse populations.

Responsibilities

• Inpatient consult and teaching services.
• Participation in renal transplant services.
• Outpatient hemodialysis patient care.
• Hypertension referral clinic.
• Comprehensive CKD outpatient program.
• Teach medical students, residents, and fellows.
• Develop or participate in clinical and/or translational research.
• Collaborative, multidisciplinary care model with APPs, nurses, and staff.
