NC State University Libraries invites applications for the Fellows Program, a three-year faculty librarian appointment from July 2027 to June 2030. Eligible candidates hold an MLS/MIS awarded in 2025–2027.

The program offers hybrid work arrangements, two department rotations, and a path toward academic librarianship leadership. Fellows gain experience across digital research, experiential learning, and scholarly communication while benefiting from a generous professional development stipend and

Qualifications

• ALA-accredited MLS or MIS degree awarded between December 2025 and September 2027.
• Demonstrated interest in supporting student experience and experiential learning.
• Potential to develop expertise in emerging technologies or science/engineering librarianship.
• Evidence of leadership potential and ability to work in a highly collaborative team.
• Commitment to fostering an environment of belonging and well-being.
• Ability to serve and collaborate with a large, diverse user community.
• Ability to communicate clearly and knowledgeably.
• Understanding of the educational mission of a research university.

Responsibilities

• Fellows will be entry-level librarians with time divided between two Libraries departments in the first 18 months.
• The second 18 months will focus on areas that meet Libraries’ operational needs and the Fellow’s goals.
• Fellows receive a competitive salary and a generous professional development stipend.
