Job summary

Mary Washington Healthcare is seeking an academically oriented Internal Medicine Physician to join as core faculty in the Internal Medicine Residency Program in Fredericksburg, VA. The role blends clinical care with resident education and academic involvement.

The position emphasizes supervision of residents in the outpatient clinic, direct patient care, and participation in interviews, lectures, and scholarly activity, with additional involvement in program governance.

Qualifications

• MD/DO required with board certification in Internal Medicine (ABIM or equivalent).
• Fellowship not required; strong clinical teaching and scholarly interest preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise residents in outpatient clinic and participate in resident interviews.
• Deliver direct patient care and coordinate outpatient care plans.
• Engage in faculty development, lectures, and scholarly activity.
• Participate in program evaluation and clinical competency committees.
• Contribute to one hospital committee and mentor residents.
