Job summary

Management & Training Corporation in Astoria, OR, seeks an instructor at Tongue Point Job Corps Center to deliver academic instruction and guide students toward academic goals.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or equivalent education/experience for subject matter.
• Bachelor's degree plus substitute teaching certificate and 1 year related experience preferred.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Provide students with direction, instruction, and assistance in designated areas of instruction.
• Motivate and counsel students in behavior, training, personal problems, or study habits.
• Coordinate with counselors and staff to resolve issues affecting student training and/or instruction.
• Develop and prepare lessons in line with approved curriculum guidelines; recommend curricula changes.
• Maintain organized, clean, and safe training environment.
• Participate in student assessment panels and perform required documentation using CIS.

Work schedule: As needed

Job responsibilities:Instructors are responsible for the academic instruction per approved curricula. They will provide training and basic guidance and direction to help students achieve their academic goals.

Essential Functions

• Provide students with direction, instruction, and assistance in designated areas of instruction.
• Motivate and counsel students in areas of behavior, training, personal problems, or study habits.
• Coordinate with counselors and staff as necessary to resolve issues affecting student training and/ or instruction.
• Develop and prepare lessons in accordance with approved curriculum guidelines, recommend curricula changes and supplemental materials.
• Maintain organized, clean, and safe training environment.
• Participate in student assessment panels, perform required documentation and evaluation using CIS (Center Information System) and other documentation systems.

Education And Experience Requirements

• Associate's degree and/ or combination of education and experience providing knowledge or skill to instruct within designated subject matter area.
• Bachelor's degree and valid substitute teaching certificate in the state of employment and 1 year related experience preferred
• A valid driver license with an acceptable driving record.
