Academic Instructor
Position Summary

The Academic Instructor is responsible for providing high-quality instruction and training to students within the Career Education Center. This role develops and implements individualized achievement plans and academic goals to support student success, program completion, and career readiness. This position requires strict adherence to confidentiality standards and the protection of sensitive student information.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university required.
  • Master's degree preferred.
  • Valid state teaching certificate or approved teaching waiver required.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Previous teaching experience and/or Job Corps experience preferred.
  • Deliver engaging academic instruction that prepares students to attain their High School Diploma (HSD) and/or General Educational Development (GED) credential while improving literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Develop and maintain individualized student achievement plans and provide comprehensive case management to support student progress, retention, achievement, and successful program completion.
  • Collaborate with CTT instructors to integrate academic concepts into career technical training programs.
  • Ensure compliance with all data integrity policies and procedures, maintaining accurate records and preventing manipulation of student data.
  • Support the Center in achieving or exceeding Department of Labor (DOL) and Company performance goals.
  • Create and maintain a positive, organized, and effective learning environment that promotes student engagement and success.
  • Enforce Center dress code requirements, beha vioral expectations, and standards of conduct while holding students accountable for their actions.
  • Serve as a positive role model by mentoring students and reinforcing Career Success Standards in accordance with the Policy and Requirements Handbook (PRH).
  • Provide effective supervision, guidance, and behavior management for assigned students, taking appropriate action to address concerns and promote positive outcomes.
  • Deliver high-quality programs and services that meet student needs while continuously seeking opportunities for improvement and innovation.
  • Complete all assignments, reports, and required documentation accurately, thoroughly, and within established deadlines.
  • Maintain professional standards of attendance, accountability, and productivity.
  • Effectively plan, prioritize, and organize work assignments to achieve departmental and organizational goals.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in instructional method s, educational best practices, and program requirements while actively pursuing professional development opportunities.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing, with students, staff, management, and external stakeholders.
  • Identify issues, analyze root causes, recommend effective solutions, and follow through to ensure timely resolution.
  • Work collaboratively with staff across all departments to ensure students receive comprehensive support and su ervision.
  • Accept direction from Center leadership, including temporary assignments supporting other departments or positions as needed.
  • Prepare and submit reports, documentation, and information requested by the Department of Labor and Company leadership in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
