Job summary

GEO Secured Services seeks an Academic Instructor to educate diverse students in adult basic education, English language development, and core subjects within a classroom setting. You will design lessons and support learners with varied aptitudes and backgrounds.

Responsibilities include teaching career planning, daily life skills, and ensuring accurate records, progress evaluation, and tutoring. A state teaching certificate and Bachelor's degree are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
• Two years of relevant teaching experience preferred.
• Valid teaching certificate from the state Department of Education or comparable authority required.

Responsibilities

• Teach adult basic education, English language development, special education, and basic subjects including reading, mathematics, and language arts.
• Instruct conversational English and local ideas for students with limited English proficiency.
• Maintain records including testing, daily inmate/detainee work, and attendance.
• Evaluate and ensure inmate/detainee academic progress.
• Provide individual tutoring.
