Job summary

Albany Medical College's Department of Medicine seeks an Infectious Disease Physician with an interest in academic medicine to join its team. The successful candidate will be board certified or board eligible in infectious disease and will be given an academic appointment commensurate with experience.

This is a full-time role in adult infectious disease working inpatient consultation with one half clinic day per week.

Qualifications

• Board certified or board eligible in infectious disease.
• Academic appointment commensurate with experience.
• Inpatient consultation role with one half clinic day per week.
• Experience with hospital epidemiology is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and manage a broad range of infectious conditions including sepsis, endocarditis, osteomyelitis, complex skin and soft tissue infections, healthcare-associated infections, and HIV inpatient care.
• Collaborate with hospital medicine, critical care, surgery, oncology, transplant, nephrology, and emergency medicine teams; telemedicine with affiliated community hospitals.
• Involvement with Albany Med's Antibiotic Stewardship Program.
• Weekend call anticipated as 1:5.
• Contribute to academic medicine with a role that aligns with experience and rank.
