Job summary

University of Illinois College of Medicine Peoria is seeking a full-time hospitalist to supervise patient care on a 642-bed tertiary care, academic medical center and to actively participate in teaching programs for undergraduate medical students and residents within UHATS.

The role includes supervising residents in ambulatory and inpatient settings, providing bedside teaching, Morning Report, Grand Rounds, curriculums, and quality improvement initiatives, while collaborating with faculty across

Qualifications

• Must possess MD or DO or equivalent degree.
• Must be board certified or board eligible for certifying examination of the American Board of Internal Medicine or comparable certifying authority.
• Must be eligible for medical licensure in the State of Illinois.
• Must be eligible for medical staff appointment at university-affiliated hospital.

Responsibilities

• Supervise patient care services and procedures.
• Serve as hospitalist (attending physician) for portions of the year.
• Collaborate with other attending physicians and consultants.
• Ensure orderly transfer of care when service hours end.
• Document daily involvement and bill for services.
• Participate in performance improvement projects.
