Job summary

Tufts Medicine's Department of Psychiatry at Tufts Medical Center in Malden, MA, invites an Academic Geriatric Psychiatrist to join our growing faculty at the new Tufts Medicine Behavioral Health Hospital (TMBHH). You will provide care for older adults, oversee one of the largest academic geriatric units in New England, and help build a premier program.

This role emphasizes clinical care, education, and research in dementia, neuropsychiatry, and neuromodulation, with opportunities for teaching

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry.
• ABPN Added Qualification (Geriatric Psychiatry) preferred but not required.
• Eligible for unrestricted medical licensure in Massachusetts.
• DEA registration or eligibility.
• Commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care.
• Interest in interdisciplinary collaboration, teaching, and academic medicine.
• CPR certification and de-escalation/restraint training (training provided upon hire as needed).

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluation and treatment for older adults in the inpatient geriatric psychiatry service.
• Help lead clinical development, quality improvement, and future growth of the inpatient program.
• Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary colleagues across psychiatry, neurology, geriatrics, neuropsychology, nursing, psychology, pharmacy, rehabilitation therapies, and social work.
• Join a department committed to innovation in dementia care, neuropsychiatry, neuromodulation, and behavioral health.
