Job summary

Harvard University is seeking a Finance Operations Manager to lead a team delivering high-quality financial services across the Faculty of Arts and Sciences. The role emphasizes staff development, compliance, and continuous improvement in budgeting, accounts payable/receivable, and related processes.

The position requires a bachelor’s degree (MBA preferred), at least five years in finance, and strong knowledge of financial systems and reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required.
• MBA or Master’s degree preferred.
• Supervisory experience required.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, advanced excel skills.
• Advanced knowledge of accounting principles and tax regulations.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and develop a team of finance associates and senior finance associates across the division.
• Lead process improvements and system upgrades to minimize disruption and improve efficiency.
• Ensure financial compliance with university policies and audit requirements.
• Partner with unit finance staff to oversee core workflows and transactions.
• Develop training materials for financial systems to help non-finance staff.
