Job description

MedStar Health and the MedStar Heart and Vascular Institute (MHVI) are seeking aBoard-Certified or Board-Eligible cardiologistto join our dynamic, multidisciplinary academic cardiovascular team inWashington, DC. This position offers the opportunity to practice at two premier institutions:

  • MedStar Washington Hospital Center
    110 Irving Street NW
    Washington, DC 20010

  • MedStar Georgetown University Hospital
    3800 Reservoir Road NW
    Washington, DC 20007

Position Highlights:

  • A majority of the clinical time is spent as a dedicated cardiac imager with a focus on cardiac CT and Cardiac MRI

  • Participate in both inpatient and outpatient clinical cardiology

  • Collaborate with a nationally recognized team of cardiovascular experts at both MedStar Washington Hospital Center and MedStar Georgetown University Hospital

  • Perform and interpret a broad spectrum of advanced cardiac imaging studies, including echocardiography (TTE, TEE, stress echo), cardiac MRI, and/or cardiac CT

  • Participate in clinical care, teaching, and research within a vibrant academic environment

  • Contribute to the training of cardiology fellows, residents, and medical students

  • Academic faculty appointment available through Georgetown University School of Medicine

  • Support and develop ongoing research initiatives with access to a rich academic infrastructure

Qualifications:

  • MD or DO with Board Certification/Eligibility in Cardiovascular Disease

  • Advanced training and proficiency in cardiac imaging (Level II/III training in echocardiography, cardiac CT and/or MRI preferred)

  • Demonstrated commitment to academic medicine, education, clinical care, and research

  • Eligible for licensure in the District of Columbia
