Job description

AdventHealth Graduate Medical Education in Orlando, Florida is seeking a dynamic, hardworking, and broadly skilled Osteopathic Family Medicine physician to serve as Program Director for the Osteopathic Family Medicine Residency Program. Ranked by US News and World Report, AdventHealth Orlando has consecutively been awarded “Best Hospital” for the past fourteen years in Central Florida.

This well-established residency program is based at AdventHealth East Orlando, a 295-bed facility that is part of one of the largest healthcare systems in the country. The Osteopathic Family Medicine Residency at East Orlando is among the most progressive training programs in the osteopathic profession. The foundation for our family medicine residency is derived from the dedication of our faculty, continuity family medicine and pediatric clinics, didactic programs, and innovative technology. We teach eight new residents each academic year, along with two new residents each year in the ONMM3 residency. Our main medical school affiliation is with Nova Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine.

The physician's duties will include clinical teaching in an outpatient setting. An opportunity to teach on the inpatient OMM consult service is available for qualified candidates. The candidate would also have the opportunity to develop a private patient base, seeing his/her own patients during dedicated time each week. A strong emphasis will be placed on clinical teaching skills focused on preventative and evidence-based medicine. A minimum of three years’ experience in Osteopathic Family Medicine is preferred.

The ideal candidate would have experience in leading an osteopathic program and should bring a vision to increase academic activity including research, posters, and presentations. Dynamic communication skills and the ability to fit within the mission and vision of AdventHealth are required. Other AdventHealth residency programs include Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Emergency Medicine, Radiology, and Pediatrics. AdventHealth fellowship programs include Colorectal Surgery, Advanced Minimally Invasive Surgery and Gynecology, Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Surgery, Geriatrics, Women’s Health, and Gynecologic/Oncology.

Requirements: Minimum of three years’ faculty and/or administrative experience. Physician must be board certified in Family Medicine.
