Job Description SummaryAcademic Nursing Faculty in the College of Nursing and Health Sciences to serve in the administrative role ofMSNProgram Director. TheMSNProgram Director is the academic leader of theMSN-degree academic program. The Program Director is in charge of managing the day-to-day operation of the program as well as the long-term planning and vision of the program in collaboration and partnership with the Department Chair.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible to model the University Mission through dedicated job performance, service excellence to constituencies, respectful collaboration and active support of the University’s Mission and Catholic and Lasallian higher education.
  • Facilitate student learning through effective teaching and evaluation of learning
  • Serve as an academic advisor, mentor, and advocate for students in the nursing program

The Program Director’s management and leadership responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

Leadership
  • Designs and revises program curriculum with the faculty
  • Recruits and trains adjunct faculty
  • Represents the program in College and University matters
  • Participates in promotion, recruitment, and marketing efforts
  • Coordinates community partnerships
Management
  • Coordinates advising of students in the program
  • Coordinates assessment of program Student Learning Outcomes (SLOs), and subsequent action planning
  • Participates in instructional evaluation of faculty teaching in the program
  • Serves as an advocate for students and a liaison to centralized services supporting students
  • Coordinates budgetary issues for the program
  • Ensures the academic course catalog and website are kept current with updates to program curriculum and/or policies
  • Coordinates with Admissions for the Graduate Nursing Program
  • Creates the course schedule for the program, including course rotations and faculty assignments
  • Responds to student concerns and issues
  • Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications

Earned doctoral degree withAPRNcertification is required. The equivalent of two years of full-time clinical nursing experience. Licensure as a registeredprofessional nurse in the state of Illinois or eligibility with application in process is also required.

Demonstrated experience in nursing education and/or leadership roles
