Job summary

The University of Chicago Medicine's Adult Epilepsy Center invites board certified/eligible academic epileptologists to join its expanding faculty. The position includes inpatient EEG monitoring, intraoperative monitoring, and outpatient care, with opportunities across Hyde Park campuses.

Applicants should have an MD, completed an ACGME neurology residency, fellowship in Epilepsy/Clinical Neurophysiology, board certification or eligibility in neurology, and Illinois licensure or eligibility.

• Fellowship in epilepsy and/or clinical neurophysiology with advanced EEG.
• Board certified or eligible in neurology.
• Illinois medical licensure or eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical care within the Adult Epilepsy Center and participate in monitoring and evaluation.
• Teach fellows, residents, and medical students.
• Engage in scholarly activity and contribute to neurology research.
• Collaborate with neurosurgery and neuroscience staff across locations.

Job description

Description The University of Chicago's Adult Epilepsy Center in the Department of Neurology is seeking board certified/board eligible academic epileptologists to join its faculty as the Neuroscience program continues to expand.

Appointees will participate in activities of the Adult Epilepsy Center, which include an inpatient epilepsy monitoring unit, intraoperative monitoring, and outpatient and inpatient EEG. Other duties include teaching of fellows, residents, and medical students, and scholarly activity. Academic rank and compensation (including a generous package of fringe benefits) are dependent upon qualifications. This position is benefits-eligible. Appointees will join the Center's existing group of epileptologists, neurosurgeons, and neuroscientists at University of Chicago Medicine, which includes a growing neurosciences service line with the opportunity to practice at locations both on and outside of our main campus in Hyde Park.

• 1) have a medical doctorate or equivalent
