Job summary

SquashBusters in Boston seeks an Academic Lead to set vision for academic and enrichment programming and to lead a team serving middle and high school students. You will plan daily sessions, track outcomes, and mentor staff, volunteers, and partners to deliver high-impact activities.

You will collaborate with the Boston Program Director, manage safety and inclusivity, and drive student success through structured programming and community engagement.

Qualifications

• Three+ years in classroom or academic afterschool setting.
• Experience mentoring or directing team members.
• Passion for working with youth; ability to manage projects and meet deadlines.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to drive students.
• Spanish language proficiency strongly preferred.
• Eligibility to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Oversee creation and implementation of academic/enrichment programming for middle and high school, in collaboration with the Program Director.
• Manage student standards and performance benchmarks.
• Use data to identify programmatic trends and adapt programs.
• Oversee budgets for academic and team trips in collaboration with the PD.
• Recruit, train, manage, and develop volunteers and part-time staff to support programming.
• Conduct observations and provide feedback to team members.
• Coordinate events and coordinate with cross-site counterparts.
