Job summary

InterVarsity Press in Lisle, IL, is seeking an Editorial Associate to support the editorial department in producing high‑quality books on scheduled deadlines. The role requires at least three years of publishing experience with manuscript tasks and may focus on academic titles requiring biblical Hebrew and Greek knowledge.

The Editorial Associate will coordinate edits, proofs, indexing, and production files, while managing freelancers and ensuring timely delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in humanities, journalism, publishing, or related field.
• Knowledge of biblical Hebrew and Greek preferred.
• Minimum three years of publishing or related field.
• Affirmation of InterVarsity’s Statement of Faith.

Responsibilities

• Review and process copyedited and proofread manuscripts.
• Enter and review manuscript corrections.
• Prepare and format files for production with the production team.
• Manage freelancer pool and provide feedback.
• Edit and review indexes.
• Proofread ebooks and manage ebook proofing.
• Process and proof book covers and data.
• Coordinate endorsements notifications.
• Proofread publicity materials.
• Coordinate interior images and figures.
• Review and process reprint corrections.
• Perform other duties as required.
