Job summary

UNM Sandoval Regional Medical Center seeks energetic Advanced Practice Providers to join a dynamic team across the SRMC ED, UNMH Lomas Campus Adult/Pediatric EDs, and Adult Urgent Care. You will work with APPs, attending physicians, residents and students in a busy Level 1 and Level 3 trauma center setting within an academic hospital.

The role emphasizes patient care, education, research participation, and professional growth with rotating shifts and a 0.90 FTE commitment.

Qualifications

• 1 year directly related experience
• Prescriptive Authority from NM is required/preferred
• Bilingual English, Spanish, or NM tribal languages is a plus

Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose and develop treatment plans within scope of practice
• Perform history and physical exams for procedures/admissions
• Complete orders, rounds and care coordination
• Perform invasive and non-invasive diagnostic and therapeutic procedures
• Explain procedures and prepare patients/families for tests
• Revise care plans with patient/family when needed
• Educate patients about preventative care and treatments
• Document care accurately in medical records
• Collaborate with health care team for continuity of care
• Guide and mentor nursing/medical staff in clinical settings
• Support research and incorporate findings into practice
• Engage in ongoing professional development
• Adhere to patient safety policies and report concerns
• Encourage patient engagement in care
