Job summary

UNC Health's Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at UNC Chapel Hill invites applications for a Clinical Cytogeneticist at tenure-track or higher. The position oversees daily operations of the clinical cytogenetics diagnostic service and signs out cases using conventional cytogenetics, FISH, and SNP microarray.

The candidate will teach medical students, residents, and fellows, with opportunities for research including next-generation sequencing.

Qualifications

• MD/DO/PhD required or equivalent.
• Board certification in Clinical Cytogenetics and Genomics (or related) preferred or board-eligible.
• Experience in constitutional and cancer cytogenetics and molecular methods.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations of the clinical cytogenetics diagnostic service.
• Sign out laboratory cases using conventional cytogenetics, FISH, and SNP microarray.
• Troubleshoot technical/analytical issues; develop new assays.
• Teach medical students, residents and fellows.
