The successful candidate will hold a master’s degree with relevant advising experience and demonstrate strong communication, presentation, and collaboration skills with diverse student populations.

Qualifications

• Master's degree and two years of experience in student affairs, student services, counseling, professional academic advising, or related experience.
• Knowledge of university policies and procedures in the relevant area.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work with diverse student populations.

Responsibilities

• Implements programs related to student success and retention.
• Assists with the development retention and completion initiatives.
• Consults on difficult issues or expectations related to assisting students.
• Counsels students regarding information about their interests, aptitudes, abilities, and other personal characteristics.
• Occasional advising and presentations at UNT Frisco.
• Presents academic information at new student orientations, exploring majors workshops, and on campus events.
• Provides training, and direction to Academic Advisors or other staff as assigned.
• Counsels prospective students regarding university requirements and individual program requirements including applicability of transfer credits in a timely and professional manner.
