Job summary

Colorado Mountain College is seeking an Academic Coordinator to support and coordinate campus academic processes, including credit/non-credit instruction and concurrent enrollment. The role involves selecting adjunct faculty, scheduling courses, and coordinating programs to enhance student learning.

Job Description:

Reporting to the Assistant Dean of Instruction, the AcademicCoordinator supports and coordinates a wide variety of campusacademic processes and oversees the credit and/or non-creditinstruction or concurrent enrollment as designated.

Responsibilities of this position include selecting adjunct facultyfor credit and/or non-credit assignments and coordinating creditand/or non-credit courses, concurrent enrollment and programming,working with the Assistant Dean of Instruction to create classschedules, supporting campus adjunct faculty credentialing,providing support to faculty with educational technology andlearning management needs, and working in collaboration with othercampus team members to coordinate programs and events in support ofstudent learning and experiences.

Pre-requisites for Position (Qualifications Standards)

Education and experience sufficient for the rigors of the position.Examples may include a Bachelor’s Degree along with two years ofrelated experience, or equivalent education and experience thatwill provide the necessary knowledge, skill and abilities toperform the functions of the position.

Examples of desired experience may include experience with aspectsof program coordination and support, community education, anddemonstrated knowledge of technology used in educationalenvironments.

Special Skills or abilities directly applicable to the position:proficiency with current technology applications includingtechnology used in education, detail orientation and accuracy inrecordkeeping and reporting, budget management, ability tocommunicate effectively and collaborate with others, ability towork well with internal and external parties, experience withorganizing, promoting, and coordinating processes and events.

Hiring range = $68,469.15 - $76,076.85 annual salary depending upona combination of education and experience. Benefits includeMedical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Pet insurance, retirementcontribution, tuition reimbursement, annual & sick time, mentalhealth resources, healthy lifestyle benefits, affordabletransitional housing may be available to the successful candidatebased on eligibility and availability, relocation if applicable.CMC utilizes a wage progression compensation model that accountsfor a candidate’s skill and experience. Although a salary range islisted, salary will be set commensurate with the successfulcandidate’s qualifications and in compliance with the Equal Pay forEqual Work Act.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Oversees credit and/or non-credit courses including schedulingand adjunct faculty selection.
  • Works in partnership with campus marketing professional onpromotion of classes and bulletin production.
  • Manages budget associated with credit and/or non-creditprogramming, First Year Experience and other programs asassigned
  • Works in partnership with the Assistant Dean of Instruction andstudent affairs to create semester class schedules.
  • Support campus faculty in Canvas use, aiding and expertiseReview and coordinate updates and all required documentation andinformation for campus adjunct faculty credentialing process.
  • Verify, request and coordinate information in response tocredentialing requests.
  • Coordinate learning management program including textbookadoptions, desk copy requests, and assisting with student return oftextbooks.
  • Co-lead campus First Year Experience.
  • Serve as resource and support for adjunct faculty withtechnical, operational and material needs.
  • Provide assessment assistance to Assistant Dean of Instructionwhen necessary.
  • Assign and coordinate training for newly hired adjunct facultyand ongoing adjunct faculty when needed.
  • May be asked to serve as liaison with the CEPA Coordinator ormay be designated as the CEPA Coordinator by the campus to ensureCEPA classes are programmed and running properly.
  • Review and verify course syllabus in Canvas for all creditand/or non-credit adjunct and other adjunct faculty asneeded.
  • Participate in campus committees and events, and may chaircommittees as assigned, such as professional development committeeand instructional equipment committee, or others.
  • Records management, data and reporting as needed for all areasof responsibility.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Supervision Received

This position works under the direction of a designated campusadministrator.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position serves as a lead for designated processes and events,and may supervise credit and/or non-credit adjunct faculty.

Special Conditions of Employment

Successful completion of a background check including motorvehicles records report will be required. Incumbents in thisposition will adhere to all safety and compliance policies ofColorado Mountain College while performing all dutiesassigned.

Working Conditions

This position requires constant sitting, occasional walking,standing and driving; occasional handling objects, pushing/pulling;frequent reaching with hands/arms, and use of finger movements;occasional lifting, carrying, pushing or pulling objects up to 50lbs. Constant written and oral communication and the ability toreason and analyze and perform calculations occasionally. Work isperformed using a computer and standard office equipment daily anddriving a vehicle occasionally.
