Position overview
Salary range: Total Negotiated Salary (TNS) calculation includes AAMC salary benchmarks for General Surgery ranging from $446,381 - $572,421. In addition, candidates have the potential to earn additional compensation with incentive eligibility on top of the base salary contingent on performance. The posted UC salary scales set the base pay determined by rank and/or step at appointment.

Position description
The Department of Surgery is seeking a full-time surgeon to join the Division of Colorectal Surgery as Health Sciences Clinical Series at the Assistant, Associate, or Professor Level.
We expect the successful candidate to have excellence in clinical care, teaching, scholarly activity with a high likelihood of obtaining extramural funding, and strong commitment to mentorship, diversity, inclusion, and equity. Faculty rank and series will be determined by the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate.
Candidates should have an MD or equivalent and/or MD/PhD with board certification/eligibility in General Surgery and fellowship trained in Colorectal Surgery.
The major criteria for appointment for faculty in the Health Sciences Clinical Professor Series shall be excellence in the overall mix of clinical care, clinical teaching, scholarly activity that advances clinical medicine, and institutional service appropriate to the programmatic need the individual is expected to fulfill.
Criteria for the Health Sciences Clinical Professor Series: The incumbent will be expected to teach fellows, residents, and medical students; provide patient care; contribute to scholarly activities; and provide public and University service.
