Job summary

The University of Chicago’s Department of Medicine, Section of Cardiology, seeks full-time faculty at any rank specializing in Cardiac Imaging. Responsibilities include outpatient clinic, inpatient service, imaging interpretation, and cardiology consultation at Hyde Park and possible off-site locations.

Teaching, trainee supervision, and scholarly activity are included. Rank and compensation depend on qualifications.

Qualifications

• Medical doctorate or equivalent required.
• Qualified for medical licensure in Illinois or eligible.
• Board certified in internal medicine and cardiovascular disease.
• Training/experience in advanced echocardiography and/or cardiac MRI/CT.

Responsibilities

• Provide outpatient clinic and inpatient cardiology services.
• Perform and interpret cardiac imaging readings.
• Offer cardiology consultation at Hyde Park and off-site locations.
• Teach and supervise trainees and students; engage in scholarly activity.

Job description

The University of Chicago's Department of Medicine, Section of Cardiology, is searching for full-time faculty members at any rank who specialize in Cardiac Imaging. Clinical responsibilities will include outpatient clinic and inpatient service, cardiac imaging reading, and cardiology consultation at Hyde Park locations and possible off-site locations like River East. Other duties include teaching and supervision of trainees and students, and scholarly activity. Academic rank and compensation are dependent upon qualifications. Prior to the start of employment, qualified applicants must:

• have a medical doctorate or equivalent
• hold or be eligible for medical licensure in the State of Illinois
• be Board Certified in internal medicine and cardiovascular disease
• have training and experience in advanced echocardiography and/or cardiac MRI and/or cardiac CT

We especially welcome applicants with an interest in cardiac imaging research. Assessment of applications will consider training and experience in echo guidance of structural heart disease interventions and in cardiac MR/CT/PET.
