Job summary

The University of Texas at Tyler School of Medicine in East Texas invites applications for a Breast Surgeon to join our growing academic medical center, dedicated to patient care, education, and research. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to advance breast disease management.

Responsibilities include performing breast procedures, mentoring trainees, contributing to research and publications, and ensuring high-quality pre- and post-operative care.

Qualifications

• MD or DO from an accredited medical school.
• Board certification in General Surgery.
• Completion of a Breast Surgery Fellowship (SSO-approved preferred).
• Eligibility for medical licensure in Texas.
• Demonstrated commitment to academic medicine, teaching, and research.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform breast procedures including lumpectomies and mastectomies.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement treatment plans.
• Provide comprehensive pre-operative and post-operative care.
• Educate patients and families on breast cancer diagnoses, treatment options, and recovery.
• Participate in clinical research and contribute to academic publications.
• Mentor and train medical students, residents, and fellows in breast surgery.
• Maintain accurate medical records and adhere to institutional and regulatory standards.
