Job summary

University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center is seeking a Physician in Anesthesiology to provide direct patient care and contribute to a university-affiliated department. Appointment at the level of Clinical Instructor, Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or full Professor is available commensurate with experience.

The position emphasizes excellence in patient care, teaching medical students and residents, and collaboration with Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine.

Responsibilities

• Provides and manages direct patient care, including physical examinations, evaluations, assessments, diagnoses and treatment for a specified patient population.
• Prescribes pharmaceuticals and treatment regimens as appropriate.
• Trains and supervises medical students and residents engaged in specialty activities and procedures, as appropriate.
• Directs and coordinates the patient care activities of nursing and support staff as required.
• Follows established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, continuous quality improvement objectives, and safety, environmental, and infection control standards.
• Participates in health promotion, education and/or prevention programs as appropriate to the position.
• Maintain department productivity thresholds and faculty status in good standing with the CWRU SOM (if applicable).
• Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
