University of South Carolina Upstate is seeking an Academic Advisor to guide declared, undeclared, and prospective students in creating effective academic plans. The role focuses on high-quality advisement and coordinating programs that promote student success and career development.

The advisor will support NSE majors, contribute to training initiatives, and work within a busy, time-sensitive environment while maintaining strong communication with students and staff.

Qualifications

• Master's degree with a minimum of 1 year experience in higher education academic advising.
• Experience in student success initiatives, academic support, or related programming preferred.
• Excellent written and oral communication and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Advise declared, undeclared, and prospective students and promote good advisement practices.
• Assess student needs, goals, and experiences to design and implement an academic plan.
• Coordinate programs that promote student success, including career development.
• Support NSE majors at USC Upstate and contribute to training and protocols.
