The University of Alabama at Birmingham is seeking an Academic Advisor I to support undergraduate business students with individualized academic plans, degree progression monitoring, and career planning, while interpreting university policies and building rapport.

You will lead orientation sessions, develop group presentations and workshops, collaborate with faculty and campus partners to boost retention, and maintain accurate records to ensure policy compliance on-site.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor's degree in Counseling, Education or a related field; two (2) years of related experience required.

Aufgaben

• Deliver Comprehensive Academic Advising and Student Success Support.
• Provide holistic academic advising to undergraduate business students by developing individualized academic plans, monitoring degree progression, interpreting university policies, and guiding students toward timely graduation.
• Cultivate meaningful relationships with students and proactively identify strategies and resources that support persistence and academic success.
• Participate in and lead student orientation programming; design and deliver engaging presentations and educational programming.
• Develop and Deliver Group Presentations and Student Success Programming; design, present, evaluate workshops and outreach initiatives.
• Implement Student Outreach and Retention Initiatives; analyze student needs and engage students with proactive interventions.
• Collaborate with Campus Partners and Support Strategic Initiatives; partner with faculty and university offices to strengthen student success initiatives.
• Maintain Accurate Records and Ensure Policy Compliance; document advising interactions and ensure compliance with policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
