Job summary

UNC Charlotte is hiring an Academic Advisor I to guide assigned students within the College of Science, assist with orientation and onboarding, and support degree completion. The advisor will work independently within a team, build alliances with faculty, and communicate effectively with students and parents.

A Master's degree must be completed by July 1, 2026, and the position runs Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm, 40 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Master's degree must be completed by July 1, 2026.
• Strong communication skills, tact and confidentiality.
• Experience giving group presentations using relevant technology and best practices.

Responsibilities

• Advise students on academic success, major exploration, and career development.
• Support orientation, onboarding and coordinated messaging for students.
• Engage with faculty and campus partners to support student development.
• Work autonomously within a team in a complex academic environment.
