You'll serve as an academic coach, advocate, and trusted partner in their success.Beyond advising, you'll contribute to innovative student success initiatives, orientation and recruitment events, and have opportunities to take leadership roles in programs in particular Paul Scholars.If you are student-focused, collaborative, and excited about helping students achieve their goals, we'd love for you to apply.Job Summary:Under the general supervision of the Director of Undergraduate Programs, advise undergraduate business students regarding academic and career planning, and to serve as a resource person on specific academic programs and policies.Job Duties/Responsibilities:Academic Advising:Provide academic advising and support to assigned Paul College Students.This is a 4-year advising model where students are assigned an advisor at entry through successful graduation.All Student Support:Support students as they explore opportunities as part of their academic career.Guide students to option/major declaration in their sophomore year.Explain academic policies, procedures, and curriculum to students to meet their educational goalsGuide student course selection and schedulingAssess student needs and make referrals to university supports and resourcesMaintain appropriate student records and document student interactions while ensuring confidentiality of student recordsIdentify and monitor student academic progress each semester to ensure successful completion of university and college academic requirements.At-Risk Student Support:Contact students with early alerts indicating academic challengesHelp students identify and resolve obstacles to academic successServe as academic coach for students who have fallen below minimum academic expectations.Meet with students placed on Academic Warning regarding their status and impact on educational plans.Training and Program Support:Participate in ongoing advisor training, both guided internal workshops and meetings as well as independently webinars, readings and external workshops.Support to program coordinators with goal of taking on leadership role in one of the following Paul College Undergraduate Programs Office programs:Rutman Fellows ProgramExternal Transfer Student Program· Internal Transfer Support ProgramAAA/Early Alert ProgramOrientation ProgramFIRE ProgramPaul Pathways ProgramPaul College Honors ProgramParticipate in Paul College recruitment and orientation events.Requirements:Minimum Education & Experience:Bachelor's degree in education, counseling, or related student service area.Two years of experience in academic counseling, post-secondary career planning and placement, or related experience.Strong interpersonal skills and communication techniques.Preferred Qualifications:Master's degreeApplicant Instructions:Applicants should be prepared to upload the following documents when applying online within the My Experience: Resume/CV section of the application: (Maximum of 5 Documents)Resume/CVCover LetterApplications that are missing any of the required items may not move forward for consideration.
