Cal State East Bay in Hayward is seeking an Administrative Support Assistant II to provide reception, clerical, and administrative support to College of Science faculty, staff, students, and visitors.
The role helps manage course administration, student records, scheduling, and departmental communications, coordinating with College offices, Facilities, the Registrar, Enrollment Management, HR, and other units.
PLEASE NOTE: The starting salary placement depends onqualifications and experience and is anticipated to be in the rangeof $3,565.00 per month to $4,346.00 per month (Step 1 to Step11)

Administrative Support Assistant II

This position provides reception, clerical, and administrativesupport to College of Science faculty, staff, students, andvisitors. The position supports the administrative and operationalneeds of assigned departments, programs, and initiatives within theCollege of Science and collaborates with other university offices,including the College of Science Office, Facilities, the Registrar,Enrollment Management, Human Resources, Hubs and/or Departments,and other campus administrative units. Working independently underthe general guidance of an assigned Analyst and appropriateadministrator, the incumbent coordinates with department chairs,other College staff, and College leadership to ensure the efficientdelivery of administrative services. Assignments are determined bythe operational needs of the College of Science and may change overtime while remaining consistent with the Administrative SupportAssistant II classification.
Entry to this classification requires fundamental written and oralcommunication skills, including a sound foundation in Englishgrammar, spelling, and punctuation; an ability to understandstandard office procedures; an ability to operate standard officeequipment; an ability to learn office technology systems; anability to perform basic mathematical calculations; and typing andkeyboard skills.
These entry qualifications would normally be obtained throughcompletion of a high school program or its equivalent and someexperience in an office environment.
Satisfactory completion of a background check (including LiveScan,as appropriate), that may include, but is not limited to: criminalrecords check, verification of academic credentials, licenses,certificates, credit history, professional references and/orverification of work history is required for employment. Cal StateEast Bay will issue a conditional offer of employment totheselected candidate, which may be rescinded if the background checkreveals disqualifying information, and/or it is discovered that thecandidate knowingly withheld or falsified information.Unsatisfactory results may also affect the continued employment ofcurrent Cal State East Bay employees who were conditionally offeredthe position.
All background checks are conducted through the university's thirdparty vendor, Accurate. LiveScan is conducted through theUniversity Police Department.
