J. Sargeant Reynolds Community College in Virginia’s capital region is seeking a part-time Career Coach and Education Coordinator I to support ACA program students through academic planning, career exploration, and college transitions.

The role requires a Master’s degree or a BA with five years in educational settings, strong advising skills, and the ability to coordinate with high schools and college staff; regular data recording and meetings are expected.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree from an accredited program is required.
• BA plus 5 years of post‑baccalaureate experience may substitute for the Master’s degree.
• Experience advising in academic settings is required.
• Experience in both post-secondary and secondary environments is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive support to ACA program students: academic planning, career exploration, transfer assistance.
• Support ACA student success through progress monitoring, barrier identification, referrals.
• Complete annual ACA coaching requirements with regular student meetings and documentation.
• Assist general dual enrollment students with admissions, enrollment, and course selection.
• Coordinate with high school students, parents, and staff to strengthen communications.
• Represent Reynolds at high school recruitment events and ACA activities.
• Maintain accurate written and digital records of student interactions and enrollment.
• Meet biweekly with ACA Director and monthly with ACA School Counselor to coordinate activities.
