Job summary

HECO Industrial Service in Kalamazoo, MI seeks a skilled motor technician to dismantle, inspect, rebuild, and test AC and DC motors up to high horsepower. You’ll work with precision tools and detailed specifications to restore motors to like-new performance.

You will conduct mechanical and electrical testing using Meggers, micrometers, Hi-Pot and other test panels, document readings, and ensure repairs meet stringent customer requirements.

Qualifications

• Mechanical troubleshooting skills.
• Motor replacement/repair/maintenance experience.
• Mechanical testing capability.
• Manual machining skills.

Responsibilities

• Dismantle and conduct detailed inspections on AC/DC electric motors, noting conditions and tolerances.
• Assemble and test repaired motors to meet or exceed specifications.
• Perform electrical and mechanical testing with Meggers, Low Ohm Meters, Micrometers, AC/DC Test Panels, Hi-Pot Tester, Surge and Bar-to-Bar Testers.
• Document and record all readings/measurements in tablet-based job packets.
• Adhere to all customer requirements and specifications.
