Job summary

FLANDERS is a world leader in renewing machines for heavy industry, specialized in designing, manufacturing and servicing electromechanical motors. AC Assembly & DTE Foreman will guide daily workflow for the Assembly and DTE Departments, assembling and disassembling motors, including prototype work from sketches or verbal cues.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Two years Lead Technician experience as a mechanic, technician, and/or welder. Three (3) years preferred.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Good problem-solving skills.
  • Good knowledge of personal computers and Microsoft Office software.
  • Ability to train and mentor employees.
  • Ability to read, write, and comprehend complex written and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to perform basic math functions including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division including understanding fractions.
  • Ability to exercise initiative, judgment, and decision making related to non-routine duties within company standards.

Responsibilities

  • Direct and execute the approved plan of the shop floor work while ensuring safety and quality.
  • Assist Motor Assembly Technicians with their work.
  • Communicate clearly and concisely while providing directions to employees.
  • Ensure tools and equipment are available and in good working condition for the teams.
  • Train employees in both departments.
  • Assist Senior Supervisor in managing department employees including providing performance feedback.
  • Foster good employee/management relations.
  • Promote teamwork by exhibiting positive teamwork with employees.
  • Read blueprints for thorough understanding of jobs and motor assembly.
  • Perform subassembly duties including assembling components of motors and other equipment.
  • Perform advanced tests of electromechanical equipment and document accordingly.
  • Operate Megger, Surge Tester, Volt-Ohm Meter, Growler, Amp Meters, and Feeler Gauges as needed on jobs.
  • Clean electromechanical equipment assemblies as needed using various methods and steps including but not limited to parts washers/steamers.
  • Thoroughly inspect parts during and after cleaning.
  • Store parts and retrieve parts accurately according to job status.
  • Perform the final assembly of complex prototype motors which include building from photos, sketches, and/or vague verbal or written directions.
  • Assist Technicians with the final assembly of motors and/or components including prototype motors.
  • Lift, tighten, adjust, and/or secure heavy objects in order to perform work duties.
  • Maintain thorough paperwork throughout entire assembly process including all test sheets from receiving unit description to Quality Control Checklist. Record accurately and on a timely basis.
  • Assist with preparation of work-scopes and coordination of all repairs.
  • Perform in-house repair evaluations and testing as needed per customers' specifications.
  • Communicate with Planning on technical questions and specifications as needed.
  • Provide daily production plan status to appropriate leadership.

AC Assembly & DTE Foreman will guide the daily workflow of the Assembly and DTE Departments for the Industrial side of the business. This role will also assemble and disassemble complex electromechanical motors and equipment including creating prototype motors from sketches, photos, and/or vague instructions.
