Job summary

ABX Air is seeking a Line Maintenance Specialist to provide expert troubleshooting and repair of aircraft electrical and mechanical systems. The role requires extensive travel across the ABX system domestically and internationally to support AOG or chronic system issues.

Must be able to work independently, be on-call for travel to AOG aircraft, and have a strong background with four years on commercial aircraft, plus an A&P license and clean background/drug checks.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• A&P License required.
• Ability to pass a 10-year background check and pre-employment drug screening.
• At least four (4) years experience working on commercial type aircraft.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage across levels and departments.
• Ability to travel frequently and work in a multi-project environment.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair aircraft electrical and mechanical systems.
• Provide expert troubleshooting support for aging wiring using diagrams and schematics.
• Support AOG or chronic aircraft system issues with travel across ABX system.
• Work independently and be available for on-call travel to AOG aircraft.

Job description

The Line Maintenance Specialist will provide a high degree of expertise introubleshooting and repair of aircraft electrical and mechanical systems. Extensive travel throughout theABX system both domestically and internationally will be required in support of AOG or chronic aircraft system issues. Must be able to work independently. On call travel to AOG aircraft will be required.

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED
• A&P License

• Verbal, written and presentation skills necessary to effectively communicate, update, persuade and/or facilitate discussions with all levels of employees and management.
• Interpersonal skills necessary to work effectively with a variety of individuals, departments and organizations.
• Planning and organizational skills necessary to prioritize, assign, and coordinate workload of assigned area and employees with a multiple project setting.
• Strong technical knowledge of aircraft electrical systems and a proven track record of troubleshooting complex aircraft systems.
• Excellent ability to troubleshoot aging wiringusing wiring diagrams and schematic prints
• Ability to travel frequently

Preferred Skills

• Passport
• Seven (7) years experience in aircraft heavy or line maintenance operations
• Five (3) years of supervisory or lead experience in aircraft heavy or line maintenance
• Excellent working knowledge of all aspects of maintenance to include mechanical, structural and avionics systems
• Proficient on ABX Programs within MXI and Boeing MM/IPC
• Experience with B767 aircraft heavy or line maintenance operations on similar type aircraft
