Looking for a great place to work with competitive pay, time off, and other benefits? We have an exciting opportunity for a Abrasive Machinist IV (Grinder) on 2nd shift to join our Kamatics team in Bloomfield, CT.

Reporting to the Sr. Team Leader, this position performs all machining operations as part of the production process in an assigned cell. The second shift hours are 3:15 PM - 12:45 AM, which includes one hour of mandatory overtime as business needs currently dictate.

Responsibilities:
  1. Independently set up, adjust, troubleshoot, and operate centerless or center grinding machines or honing machines on a diversified line of work to close and exacting tolerances and finish specifications requiring an intermediate level of skill.
  2. Perform setups involving familiarity with manufacturing order of operations, including combinations of operations.
  3. Work from operation sheets and machine setup instructions.
  4. Be self-sufficient with work-holding and work support methods, stone selection, wheel speed, wheel dressing, and machine adjustments.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma/GED.
  • Minimum of 4 years of manufacturing experience as a grinding operator or 1 year of CNC machining experience.
Physical Demands:
  • Continual standing.
  • Frequent mental and visual attention.
  • Frequent bending and twisting.
  • Frequent grasping of items and tools.
  • Occasional (15-40%) lifting and moving materials up to 50 lbs.
Other:
  • Willingness to work overtime and weekends to meet customer needs.
