Job summary

Team Industries Inc in Port Arthur, Texas is seeking a skilled abrasive blasting worker to prepare substrates on piping, tanks and structures for coating by pressure blasting. This position is based in Port Arthur with relocation or daily commute required.

Relocation or daily commute may be required. Pay range is $18.00-$22.00 per hour, with benefits after 500 working hours, and a 2nd shift from 5 PM to 3:30 AM Monday-Thursday.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; or equivalent combination of education and/or up to one-month experience and/or training.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
• Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Responsibilities

• Abrasive blasting of pipe, structural steel, and machined parts.
• Masking/taping and capping of pipe spools.
• Light maintenance of blast equipment.
• Fill out necessary paperwork for each piece, making sure it stays with the material as it goes from blast to paint.
• Upkeep of helmet, cape, and belts as they are used.
• Keep finished material organized in the prep area.
• Ability to be trained on a forklift, tug, overhead crane, and tractor.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form.
• Cleaning and maintenance of personal protective equipment (PPE’s).
• Performing other job-related duties as assigned.
• Conducts work safely and follows all safety procedures.
