Job summary

The DC Army National Guard is seeking a M1 Abrams Tank Systems Maintainer to supervise and perform maintenance on tanks. You will diagnose malfunctions and service suspension, steering, hydraulics, APU, and related subsystems.

You will gain hands-on electronic and mechanical skills, learn to read schematics, use test equipment, and develop a foundation for civilian electronics or avionics roles. Training includes Basic and Advanced Individual Training with pay during instruction.

Qualifications

• Familiarity with electronic, electrical, and mechanical test equipment.
• Ability to read schematics, drawings, and wiring diagrams.
• Attention to detail and precision in maintenance tasks.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and perform maintenance on M1 Abrams Tank systems.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot malfunctions across suspension, steering, hydraulics, APU, fire suppression, and gas particulate systems.
• Maintain vehicular armament, gun turret drive, and fire control subsystems.
