Leitner, Tort, DeFazio & Brause, P.C., a busy Central New Jersey defense firm specializing in Workers’ Compensation Law, has an opening for an Associate Attorney in Edison. You will work under supervision, assisting with legal research and specific projects, with remote hearings available in certain vicinages at direction of the Court.

Partners focus on professional development and growth toward partnership; JD with NJ bar and strong communications are essential.

Qualifications

• JD degree from an accredited law school and NJ bar admission.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational abilities and reliability with deadlines.
• Experience in Workers’ Compensation preferred; both new graduates and experienced attorneys.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel.
• Team player with a commitment to professional growth.

Responsibilities

• Assist with drafting legal documents, including motions and pleadings.
• Assist with the discovery process by administering depositions, issuing interrogatories and reviewing documents.
• Negotiate settlements.
• Perform legal research.
• Make court appearances as necessary.
• Must have strong interpersonal skills due to significant client contact.

Location is in Edison, New Jersey

We are a busy Central New Jersey Defense Firm specializing in Workers’ Compensation Law. We service every vicinage within the State of New Jersey. We have a diverse client base including carriers, governmental entities and sports teams. We have an opening for an Associate Attorney. The ideal candidate for this position is professional and motivated to learn, with excellent organizational skills. Candidate will work under the supervision of experienced counsel, assisting with legal research and specific projects. Remote Hearings are available in specific vicinages at direction of the Court.

Qualifications:

• Completion of Law School with JD and admission to the NJ bar.
• Effectiveness and reliability regarding communications and meeting deadlines.

• Proficient in current technology, (Microsoft Office Suite, Excel)
