Job summary

Hornblower’s Seaward Services, Inc. seeks an experienced Able-Bodied Seaman to join the deck crew for the new Crew Transfer Vessels servicing wind turbines off the East Coast, with operations around Martha’s Vineyard and Norfolk VA.

You will assist with transfers, mooring, ship maintenance, engine rounds, and navigation, while prioritizing safety and adhering to USCG rules and company policies. Trips offshore range 12–24 hours.

Qualifications

• USCG MMC with Able-Bodied Seaman Limited endorsement or higher.
• STCW 95 with endorsements II/4, IV/2, VI/1, VI/2, VI/3, VI/4, VI/5, VI/6.
• RFPNW
• VPDSD
• After hire, ability to obtain GWO Sea Survival and GWO Lift certifications
• Valid US Passport
• Valid Driver’s License
• TWIC
• Three years’ experience as a seagoing mariner
• Offshore Wind – Crew Transfer Vessel experience preferred
• Excellent career record in marine industry
• Rigging experience preferred
• Engine room experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Handle mooring lines during docking/undocking.
• Assist with potable water, bunkering, wastewater handling and shore power connections.
• Perform operational duties as directed by Captain/Deck Officer.
• Conduct at-sea personnel transfers and cargo operations.
• Perform lookout duties per COLREGS.
• Assist with training of new crew.
• Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
• Maintain vessel integrity and readiness.
• Report safety, operational and environmental issues to supervisor.
