Job description

Job Title: Janitor

Reporting to the Janitorial Supervisor, the Janitor is responsible for cleaning and maintaining the cleanliness of assigned buildings according to contract standards.

Essential Functions

1. Complete assigned janitorial duties according to your schedule and responsibilities.
2. Practice safety precautions in the application and use of supplies, including hazardous materials and Universal Precautions.
3. Practice safe and correct lifting techniques.
4. Perform all duties as assigned by the Team Leads or Supervisor.
5. Be flexible with duties performed, as job expectations or schedules change.
6. Be a responsible steward of agency resources, avoiding waste of time and supplies.
7. Provide transportation to and from worksites, if necessary, as required for their route.
8. Perform all other duties assigned by the Janitorial Supervisor.

Floor Care Responsibilities

• Knowledge of janitorial floor care practices.
• Ability to strip, wax, buff, burnish, scrub floors, and assess for specific maintenance needs.
• Knowledge of floor care products and usage requirements.
• Ability to identify and use all floor equipment required in the contract.
• Perform all other duties as assigned by a supervisor.
