Job summary

JARC Boca Raton is seeking an Ability Garden Instructor to teach gardening and life skills to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities within our farm-to-table garden program. You will lead hands-on horticulture activities and support participants in building confidence and independence.

As part of a compassionate team, you’ll follow program curricula, document progress, and contribute to IPP processes while ensuring safety and dignity for all participants.

Qualifications

  • 3–6 months of related experience and/or training.
  • Gardening, horticulture, agricultural, educational, or human services experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain documentation and prepare reports.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with participants, families, and team members.
  • Patient, compassionate, and committed to helping others succeed.
  • Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in all garden-related activities.

  • Provide supervision and skills training while ensuring the dignity, rights, and safety of participants.
  • Maintain a safe, supportive, and engaging garden environment.
  • Participate in staff meetings, training, and development activities.
  • Assist with Individual Program Plan (IPP) processes and meetings as needed.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of participant goals and progress.
  • Collect training data and complete daily case notes.
