Job summary

Lone Star Paving, a paving contractor in Central Texas, is seeking a Distributor Driver to support paving crews and prime operations. You will work with the superintendent to determine schedules and ensure proper distribution of asphalt materials across projects.

Responsibilities

• Apply prime/oil to road surfaces and regulate spray bar heating.
• Operate and monitor distributor truck gauges for even distribution.
• Connect hoses, regulate pumps, and perform daily maintenance.
• Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections and record keeping.
• Collaborate with paving crew and supervisor on schedules.

Lone Star Paving is a paving contractor operating in the Central Texas region with paving crews, HMA, aggregate, trucking, milling, and quality control. Our operations complete heavy highway and civil projects throughout Texas. Position Overview

The Distributor Driver will work hand in hand with the paving crew superintendent to determine the prime schedule. The ideal candidate is familiar with paving operations in heavy hwy.

Key Responsibilities

• Responsible for the application of prime/oil on the road surface.
• Must have experience operating a distributor truck, must know the proper heating levels, and how to regulate the spray bar.
• Must know how to monitor gauges to ensure even distribution
• Responsible for connecting hoses and regulating pumps
• Keeping the distributor truck clean,performs daily preventative maintenance, record and inspection on vehicles to include fueling, cleaning, tire/light inspection, checking and adding fluids as needed, Performs pre-trip and post-trip inspections.

Knowledge/Skill Requirements

• Entry Level Position
• High School Diploma or GED but not required
• Knowledge of how the distributor unit operates
• Working knowledge of asphalt production and associated equipment, and an understanding of operations and safety requirements is preferred
• Familiarity with OSHA regulations, a plus

Working Conditions

• Drivers may work at various locations, including construction sites, mines, and other heavy equipment operations.
• Employees must have the ability to perform sustained and vigorous activities in a variety of environments, temperatures, and weather conditions, which could include but not be limited to inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust and asphalt.
• Exposure to grease, oils, and lubricants.
• Be available for overtime, extended hours, night shifts, and weekends as required.
• Some travel may be required as our operations span throughout Texas.
• Must comply with the company's drug and alcohol testing requirements.
• Use of Personal Protection Equipment is required.
• Proper PPE is required at all times.
