Lincoln Community School in Lincoln offers an Evening Adult Basic Education Teaching Assistant Substitute role to support adult learners in ESL and GED classes. Hours include daytime 8:45 am - 1:30 pm and evenings 4:45 pm - 8:00 pm, with classes enrolling learners from diverse backgrounds.
Duties include attendance, tech assistance with Google tools, exam proctoring, and small group support in a classroom setting. Helpful, but not required, language skills include Somali, Spanish, Anuak or Nuer.
Positions are open for ABE Teaching Assistants Subsitutes beginning as soon as possible. The ABE teaching assistant provides assistance to the ABE teacher and adult learners in the adult ESL and GED classes. Daytime substitute hours include 8:45 am - 1:30 pm and evening substitutes work between 4:45 pm and 8 pm. The student population includes adult learners with diverse backgrounds. ABE enrolls students from 50 different countries speaking 29 unique languages.
Duties include taking attendance, assisting students in accessing the technology (google meet, google sites, google classroom and google docs), proctoring exams and assisting in the classroom small group instruction. The teaching assistant will need to feel confident and comfortable with the computer and google suite for this position, and helping students log in via phone calls and in-person instruction.
High school diploma or equivalent and strong computer skills including knowledge/application of Google Suite.
For the ESL classes, It is helpful to speak the Somali, Spanish, Anuak or Nuer languages, but certainly not required.
$17.51per hour
