Job summary

Baylor Scott and White Health invites a BE/BC, fellowship trained Abdominal Transplant Surgeon to join our Temple, TX program. This employed role offers work‑life balance, a competitive salary, productivity bonus, moving allowance, and no state income tax.

The successful candidate will join a 600+ bed, Level I trauma teaching facility and collaborate with referring physicians, HPB surgeons, pediatric transplant teams and residents to advance our award-winning transplant program.

Qualifications

  • Doctorate degree in Medicine and TX medical license required.
  • Board certification in transplant surgery or equivalent required.
  • Experience in abdominal transplant, HPB procedures, and liver transplantation preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Join our established abdominal transplant program and contribute to growth.
  • Collaborate with physicians to deliver high-quality patient care.
  • Educate residents and fellows and participate in on-site training.
  • Use Epic EMR in daily clinical workflow.

The Opportunity
  • 600+ bed, level I trauma and academic facility
  • Join our innovative and aggressive abdominal transplant program
  • Growing program with 69 kidneys and 7 kidney/pancreases transplants in 2025
  • Experience with high-risk donors is highly preferred
  • Experience in hepatopancreatobiliary (HPB) surgery, liver transplant and pediatric kidney transplant is a plus
  • General Surgery resident and medical student education on-site
  • Faculty appointment commensurate with experience
