Baylor Scott & White Health in Temple, TX is seeking a BE/BC Gastroenterologist with Hepatology interest/experience to join our Temple program. We offer a strong GI faculty, multiple APPs, a multidisciplinary team, and four colorectal surgeons in a tertiary referral setting.

Qualifications

• MD or DO required; TX license by start date.
• Board Certified or Board Eligible Gastroenterology; transplant hepatology certification/experience a plus.
• Fellowship trained in GI with Hepatology interest/experience.

Responsibilities

• Split between clinic and procedures; mix of hepatology and general GI duties.
• Teach and supervise fellows and Advanced Practice Professionals.
• Coordinate care with transplant hepatology team and satellite transplant program development.
• Participate in call schedule (1:12) and support one hospital site.
• Opportunity for academic appointment with Baylor College of Medicine.

Position Highlights

• We are looking for a Gastroenterologist, with Hepatology focus to help with our growing population of pre and post liver transplant patients as well as non-transplant liver patients.
• Opportunity to partner with the Department Chair (Michael Volk) and Hepatology Director at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas (Sumeet Asrani) to build a satellite liver transplant program.
• Board certification in Transplant Hepatology is a plus, but not required
• The ideal candidate will be comfortable with teaching and working with fellows and Advanced Practice Professionals.
• Call:1:12. Cover one hospital only. Fellows take first call.
• Schedule: Good mix of clinic and procedures
