Overview

AbbeHealth Services is a regional nonprofit organization dedicated to providing mental health and aging services that help individuals achieve their optimum levels of independence and success. Abbe Center for Community Mental Health is a subsidiary of AbbeHealth Services located in Manchester, Iowa.

This position is designed to assist adults with serious mental illness to live in a supportive living environment in the Manchester community. We are seeking an individual with excellent communication skills to work in a progressive setting with an emphasis on responsibilities of day-to-day operations within a community-based setting, as well as program development and oversight.

Responsibilities
  • Be aware of department compliance requirements for federally funded healthcare programs (e.g., Medicare and Medicaid) regarding fraud, waste, and abuse. Report any questions or concerns to department or administrative staff.
  • Conduct all job aspects ethically, supporting the organization's commitment to ethical behavior in all activities.
  • Recognize and teach team members the early symptoms of physical and mental illness.
  • Perform or coach staff to perform appropriate interventions and/or referrals according to an identified crisis plan.
  • Provide leadership and clinical consultation to team members working directly with consumers.
  • Maintain a positive, cooperative attitude, demonstrate flexibility, and be willing to adapt to meet department goals.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to ensure complete service to all customers.

Qualifications

Education

Bachelor's degree in a human service-related field with 1 year of related experience; Associate's degree in a human service-related field with 3 years of related experience; or High School Diploma with 5 years of related experience.

Qualifications/Experience

Experience working within Medicaid Waiver Programs preferred. Prior management/leadership experience preferred. Valid Iowa driver's license required.
