In asbestos abatement, there is no gray area.
EPA NESHAP is not optional.
OSHA 1926.1101 is not flexible. NMED compliance is not negotiable.
Documentation must be airtight. Containment must be precise. Profit must be protected.
If you are an experienced abatement leader who understands both regulatory exposure and financial performance — this role is built for you.
Who We Are
Next Level Restoration & Remodel is an Albuquerque-based restoration and remodel company built on integrity, accountability, craftsmanship, and consistency. We are building a high-performance Abatement Department designed to operate profitably, compliantly, and independently — without daily owner intervention. This is a department leadership seat.
The Role
Role Title: Abatement Production Manager
You are responsible for the full operational and financial performance of the Abatement Department.
That includes:
- Full compliance with EPA NESHAP, OSHA 1926.1101, NMED regulations, and City of Albuquerque notification requirements
- Oversight of containment strategy, negative air configuration, decontamination procedures, and inspection readiness
- Division-level gross margin and net profit performance
- Crew leadership, accountability, and development
- Capacity planning to support structured 25% annual growth
This is not a project manager position. This is department ownership.
What Success Looks Like
You are successful in this role when:
- All projects pass inspection with zero compliance exposure
- Notifications, manifests, and logs are audit-ready at all times
- Labor and equipment deployment protect gross margin
- Financial performance is predictable and measurable
- The department scales without chaos or increased owner involvement
- No regulatory gaps. No margin drift. No operational instability.
What You’ll Do
- Lead and manage asbestos technicians
- Oversee project planning from intake through closeout
- Conduct job hazard analysis and review asbestos surveys
- Ensure containment, negative air systems, and recon protocols meet regulatory standards
- Maintain strict documentation and compliance systems
- Monitor revenue, labor efficiency, gross margin, and net profit
- Provide weekly KPI and forecasting reports to ownership
- Implement SOP improvements that strengthen scalability and risk control
- Coordinate with Remodel and Restoration leadership to support rebuild transitions
- Plan hiring and equipment scaling in alignment with growth targets
Required Qualifications
- Current Asbestos Contractor/Supervisor Certification (40-hour) GS-29 (or ability to meet regulatory requirements immediately)
- 3–5+ years leading asbestos abatement projects or environmental services teams
- Deep working knowledge of EPA NESHAP, OSHA 1926.1101, NMED, and local regulatory frameworks
- Experience managing field crews and enforcing safety compliance
- Demonstrated financial awareness (margin, labor control, cost management)
- Clean driving record and ability to pass fit/medical screening
Who This Is NOT For
This role is not for you if:
- You are strong technically but avoid financial accountability
- You resist structured reporting or KPI visibility
- You rely on ownership for daily direction
- You see compliance as paperwork instead of risk management
- You prefer job-level supervision over department-level leadership
Compensation & Benefits
This is a full-time, long-term leadership role. Compensation is based on experience, demonstrated flooring expertise, and field leadership capability.
- Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance
- 401(k)
- Paid Time Off
- Company vehicle or vehicle allowance
- Company phone & tablet
- Paid certifications and professional development
- This role is designed for long-term leadership and division growth.
