Abandoned Mine Lands (AML) Senior Project Manager (EIR Environmental Engineer 2)

Atlas Technical Consultants, a nationwide leader in civil engineering, materials testing, and geotechnical consulting, is seeking an AML Senior Project Manager/Engineer for our Pittsburgh, PA office. With over 3,800 employees and 140 offices across the US, Atlas is committed to delivering quality and safety in environmental and infrastructure projects.

Job Responsibilities
  1. Assist in preparing reclamation plans for AML projects, including cost estimates and regulatory submissions.
  2. Develop plans, specifications, and drawings for environmental remediation, water management, and site development projects.
  3. Prepare permitting packages for agencies such as PADEP, WVDEP, and local authorities.
  4. Interpret and develop detailed drawings from sketches and markups.
  5. Oversee AutoCAD drawing production and perform technical analysis at project sites.
  6. Modify and create drawings based on redlines and project needs.
  7. Interface with regulatory agencies and compile reports and permit applications.
  8. Communicate effectively with team members and provide project support.
  9. Adhere to Atlas’ health and safety policies.
Minimum Requirements
  • BS in Civil or Environmental Engineering or related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in environmental permitting and project implementation.
  • PE license in PA and/or WV; knowledge of federal and state regulations.
  • Technical expertise in AML projects, site design, stormwater, and AMD treatment.
  • AutoCAD Civil 3D proficiency preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to travel up to 20%.
  • Valid driver’s license.
