An ABA therapist is a paraprofessional who works under the supervision of a BCBA or BCBA. They are responsible for directly implementing treatment plans related to skill acquisition and behavior reduction. They also collect data and provide support during each session when the client is seen.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Collects treatment plan data
- Attends bi-weekly supervision meeting
- Attends monthly staff meetings
- Provide 1:1 ABA therapy in the home, school, center, and community-based
- Adheres to applicable laws, rules, and regulations specified by regulatory agencies
- Provides regular written and verbal progress updates on treatment goals.
- Complete DHS-required training
- Ensure that the client is always in a safe and positive environment.
Minimum Qualifications
- Undergraduate or graduate students in psychology, social work, and education
- Ability to speak, read, and write English fluently
- Registered Behavior Technician with the BACB
- Bachelor's Degree or 48 credit hours towards a Bachelor's in Psychology, Education, or a related field preferred
- Experience working with children with developmental disabilities
- Experience working with children with behavior problems
- Excellent communication skills
- Bilingual
Services will be performed in the Twin Cities Metropolitan Area of the following seven (7) counties: Anoka, Carver, Dakota, Hennepin, Ramsey, Scott, and Washington Counties
